Chiacchiere e frivolezze!

...to be continued...

The title of this post is wordplay. I find out someting new, yes!, again! Better, I find out that something that attracted me very much is simpler than it looks like...
Today I'm talking about tatting, in Italian "chiacchierino" (reminds the word "chatting"), in French "frivolité" ( reminds something "frivolous"). This tecnique as such feminine and interesting names, so I become curious about it, and I discovered that it is used to make very nice and elegant laces, but furthermore, you can do wonderful earrings "simply" made by "lark's head" knots. I want to clarify, I'm talking about needle tatting, because there's another tecnique, called navette tatting, but I'm not interested in that one.
Obviously, I went very quickly from the name to the tutorial! I find out a very clear one: it's divided in 3 video and you can start from zero to make a nice flower (you can use it as earring). It's called TAT TAT TATTING (it's an english tut) by ONEVIRTUOSWOMAN. Over there you find the 3 links and the pic of the result.
Maybe you don't like very much the big light green flower (she used that colour and yarn to make it easier to understand), but I'm sure you have already seen some very elegant white or black laces earrings that are made with this tecnique. After seeing this tut, I looked for others, and I found out many tuts, patterns, examples; I've already made a pinterest board, but this story is starting to be too long, so I hold it for another post. There are many to comes.
Looking this tut I really want to try... don't you??! ...to be continued...
